NF Forward is an organization founded to raise money and awareness for Neurofibromatosis, a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves endings that affects 2.5 million individuals. NF Forward’s signature event is the Benefit, a gala held in Detroit each November and hosted by Rocket Mortgage chairman Dan Gilbert and his wife Jennifer. Our creative team partnered with the nonprofit to create an identity package and invitation suite for the ninth annual gala.
As an escape after a year stuck inside, summer camp is a fun and nostalgic theme for many of our sponsors who attended camp as kids. We transported guests into a vintage, more sophisticated take on sleep-away camp. For the invitation, we chose to base the design on camp counselor clipboards, with the information bound to a thick Kraft paper backboard with a metal ACCO fastener. Our opening video, inspired by the Napoleon Dynamite opening credits, featured colorful camp scenes with a narrated letter home from a camper.
